About Us

Qubit was founded by an NHS operational director and an NHS data scientist both who worked directly in elective care management. Qubits founders faced an increasing challenge of meeting monthly referral to treatment targets, even with significant resources dedicated to the task – with increasing pathway complexity and data moving across dozens of clinical information systems, they observed that across the NHS that many millions of pounds were being spent each month on staff manually checking and correcting records to ensure that patient treatment statuses and waiting times could be accurately reported on.

Above the financial burden of this work, they were concerned that most Trusts only had the resources to really validate the longest waiting records. Often over 50% of records would only start to be actively reviewed and tracked once they had waited over 12-15 weeks, which could often lead to a negative outcome for the patients.

Convinced that there were better ways to manage this challenge by harnessing modern technology, they came to the conclusion that there was not a suitable tool already available on the market. Qubit was founded to design a new platform in partnership with the NHS, that could ensure every patient was tracked whilst also reduce the manual burden on NHS staff.

QPMS was designed with different groups of NHS staff from every stage of elective care management – by understanding their workflows and requirements the platform attempts to automate manual processes wherever possible, provide tools to increase efficiency in validating records and reduce human error by verifying intended actions have been taken correctly.

Successfully piloted at Europe’s biggest Hospital, the Qubit platform provides an effective integrated suites of tools for elective care management, that has provided significant improvements in terms of performance, efficiency, safety and user experience.

Working in partnership with our NHS colleagues is fundamental to everything we do; by adopting an agile approach to product development we are able to listen to their needs and adapt the platform to meet changing requirements through rapid deployments of new functionality. During the Covid-19 pandemic we have added new functionality to help track and report Covid-19 activity and coordinate clinical prioritisation and outsourcing initiatives to prepare for the return to normal elective care.

Our ethos

Our approach

We believe in the NHS and want to ensure that our healthcare partners have the best possible tools to meet the ever increasing health challenges of the UK. Our goal is to provide them with powerful, intuitive software solutions that support safe and equitable care, whilst also improving efficiency and integration of services. By harnessing the potential of cutting edge technology such as machine learning and cloud based sharing of data we believe our solutions can help the NHS meet the objectives of the Long Term Plan and improve the lives of both patients and staff.
